Day 29: State Teacher Inservice Day

CutitUp

We are so lucky to have this day available to us!  I love going to conferences and I love hearing how other teachers approach their craft.  One tid-bit I came away with was presented by Jeremy Knight from Grants Pass High School at the IGNITE session.   Although the presentation wasn’t directly about piece-wise functions, the photos in his slides and then talking with Jeremy afterwards clarified this great idea.  He has his Alg 2 kids draw each part of the function on a piece of graph paper, cut out the portion that is indicated in the piece-wise restricted domain statement, and then glue them together to represent the entire function. WOWZIE!!  Why didn’t I ever think of that (hear hand thunk forehead)
